Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer in-person or telehealth sessions?

Both! I provide in-person sessions in my office in Dublin and conduct telehealth sessions with those residing in Ohio via my HIPAA compliant practice management software, Simple Practice.

Is telehealth as effective as in person sessions?

I think so and so do my clients! Sometimes virtual sessions work best for parents and the last thing I want is for attending therapy appointments to be complicated. Currently, the majority of my clients are doing a hybrid combination of in person and virtual sessions and whatever works best for you, works best for me! I love getting to see your tiny humans, amazing dogs and I can’t even begin to tell you how many cat butts I’ve seen in the past 3.5 years haha. Stay in your sweats (although you can definitely wear sweats in person too), warm up your coffee for the third time, find a comfortable spot in your home and I promise any clutter in the background is not going to bug me!

Do you just see moms?

Yes, at this time I am only accepting new clients who identify as moms or birthing people. This includes those experiencing fertility concerns, those who are pregnant, postpartum individuals and those who serve as the snack-getter for tiny humans! While I am open to seeing moms and birthing people with children of all ages, most of my clients have kiddos under the age of 8.

What are your fees, do you take insurance and what are your hours?

My rate is $175 for initial diagnostic intake and $150 per individual therapy session. I am in network with several insurance panels and lay out all things insurance here! My hours vary seasonally, but they are always daytime, weekday appointment times.

What can I expect from a therapy session with you?

I aim to be laid back and approachable, but don’t let my relaxed style fool you—I have a pretty good BS detector and I will call it when I see it. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is probably one of the more important predictors of outcome, so if it feels like it’s not a good fit, we’re going to talk about it. I have a pretty eclectic approach and draw from modalities such as psychodynamic, EMDR, Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, and Feminist Therapy. Obviously I draw from some concepts in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I am not a worksheet and defined homework type of therapist, so if you are looking for that type of structure, I may not be the best fit. But if you want to peek into some of the emotional boxes that you’ve buried in the back of your closet, hang out with your inner child, tap that shit out with some EMDR or spend three sessions unpacking your emotional response to the Barbie movie, I might be for you!

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you made it here, I can almost guarantee that therapy is right for you! There is not right or wrong way to “do” therapy…you just show up to a space where you are met with unconditional positive regard, no judgment and an objective sounding board. If there’s something going on that you don’t feel great about and you’re willing to take some calculated risks to try to improve it, then therapy is right for you!

Can I bring my tiny human?

Yes! Babes in arms are always welcome and encouraged to join you for sessions if that’s what feels right and/or what works best with your schedule. I try to keep my office stocked with a few of the necessities that you might need while you are here and I am always happy to help carry diaper bags and car seats!
